Do you need to mod the cables to fit these?

no just move some cable ties and re route slightly and I think I turned the bracket holding the brake pipe to frame . I found fitting details on the internet adventure bike shop I think.

I have these on my 2013 model and I didn't have to do anything to the cables. They have been on the bike for close to 3 yrs, no issues even for full turn.
