Hey all,

I purchased my 2014 ES and just accepted the financing that Yammy got me, and now attempting to refinance it through my own bank. However, my own bank's loan closing folks and the "underwriter" can't find the VIN for my new bike in their databases they use to look them up. Weird. I've verified that the VIN on my documents and on the frame neck and near the left fork are correct and provided it to them multiple times. Anyone had this problem? Anyone know why this is and what I can do about it? Thanks for any assistance.

Bank needs to update there database for model year 14 would be my best guess. ::022::

What I think they are doing is trying to get the loan value for it show them your bill of sale or look up a 2013 new would be close enough for them I would think.

Well, that was exactly it. The bank does not have the 2014 model in their database and they denied my loan, specifically for that reason. Called back and they are going to email the underwriter to see what can be done. I also asked if they could possibly use the sales agreement + last year's model information for what it's worth, but we'll see. Might just have to wait a while to refi it. Kind of sucks!!!

So it turns out that Vin information is supposed to automatically be provided to Carfax when the dealership takes possession from Yamaha during the port to dealer process. For some reason mine never got done. Really sucks.
