Lil' ride last september with a friend in Italy from Pian Madama to Colle di Sampeyre (Piemonte) mostly off-tarmac but legally ridable, italian's laws being (as usual) less restrictive than in France, how lucky they are...
Some nice places and scenery (personal opinion, we live in town), even without snow, mountains in summer are not too unpleasant to see
We even encountered a motorcycle that maybe someone from the forum could recognize, who knows ...
