I traditionally use liners in the side bags (panniers) on all my bikes - regardless if they are top or side loading. I will be using the Givi Trekkers and Givi does offer liners for this model. They are a little pricey and probably include more features than what I need. I'm thinking that a side opening liner would be nicer for packing, but a top opening would work as long as it had a large enough opening (like the parallel zipper bags you sometimes see).

TLC Products makes a whole series of liners for many makes/models of motorcycles and may be an option.

Looking for ideas!!

TIA

I bought a nice set of liner bags from JC Whitney that fit absolutely perfectly in my Caribou cases. It was as though they were made for them. They were $20 or $25 each. I shipped my Strom out the other day (sold), but kept these liners in the hopes they'll work with the Micatech V2's. The quality was surprisingly good!

I'll try and find the link to these and I'll post it up ASAP.

Link to the JC Whitney bag liners. The GL 1100 size is what fits the 36 L Caribou cases. They have other sizes, navigate their site. If they've maintained their quality since I bought mine (2005), these are definitely worth considering. No frills, just a nice, zip top bag, constructed of urethane coated, Cordura fabric, a good quality zipper and well sewn, w/piped seams. No sizzle, just steak. Mine are keepers. JC Whitney has stood behind their stuff for me, in the past. I plan on using these stacked above the "seldom required items" i.e. (tools, tire repair stuff, etc.), in the lower well of the MicaTech V2's. Any excess fabric of these liners should roll up and compress into the side opening panniers with no problem.

Thanks Jake! These seem to be better priced than the TLC liners, although not as many sizes to chose from.

Jakeboy, thanks for the link on those JC whitney liners. I have been looking for options to use with my new Micatech V2 bags that will be here soon and the GL1100 size looks like it might be perfect and a great price too.

I ordered the Trax bags and they come with dry liners that appear to be very nice.

Okay - same as mine then. Only difference is I went with the Givi Trekkers. Did you order the Trax tail trunk as well?
It's on my list. I prefer the profile of the Pelicans for a trunk but then you'd have a 3rd key to keep track of so I probably will go with the Trax trunk as well.

I like the Trekkers a lot, it was between them and the Trax for me.

Trekkers and Trax were my other two top choices as well. The partial side load of the V2 won me over though.

From Twisted's web site it appears that the dry bags do not come with the Trax boxes. But they are available to purchase. Am I wrong?

If you look one of the left/right or top boxes you'll see this:

"Each TraX case now includes a Drybag Liner Bag! "

I see it now, thanks. I believe that Trax will be my choice as well. My dealer will give me a discount of at least 10% and no shipping.

That is great that you can get such a good deal. I didn't think of that. My dealer gives me 15% off OEM and other accessories. I will have to check on things from twisted too.

"Bestem" -- bought the "BMWRT" size for my large GIVI side bags...thee perfect purchase for last years romp.

They have heavy cordura, are virtually waterproof, and have reflective piping...awesome very reasonably priced items.

I've used their bags before and they are good quality. What model Givi bag did you put them in and which BMW RT bag did you buy?

Just to update, since I started this thread way back when. I ended up springing for the actual Givi Trekker bag liners. As I noted in the first post - they are pricey - but after getting them it's obvious they are top-quality and (almost) worth it..... ;)
