not until your post, but I'm sure that vendors will be jumping on this based on interest. Personally, Every bike I owned had a backrest. This time, it's going to be a 1-up bike. I might even take the seat off and used the extra storage that Yamaha built into the bike. ;D

The backrest is in work again since the bikes are coming sooner. Duane at Premier Cycle Accessories is hammering out a backrest. Here is the website and a pic of the one he made for the FJR. I told him folks are interested in the setup for the XT. More to come he said about 6-8 weeks.

Some time ago, someone posted some information about a passenger backrest for the S10. Several members, including myself, showed interest on this item, has anyone heard anything else about it?

I am still very interested in seeing what happens with this. Would also want to know whether it will work with an aftermarket top rack and case installed.......thanks for keeping us updated Vince! ;)

Anyone hear any more word on this backrest? Is it still coming?

Here is an update from Duane at PCA on the backrest. I told him I didn't mind waiting for his backrest I mean we waited almost a year for the bike. As far as I know he is the only vendor even trying to make a backrest for us so I'm hanging tough for his.

"We have just completed the drawings and have turned them over to the fabricator for the first prototype. I have talked to my local Yamaha shops
(2) and they have not sold or even ordered any of these so I may have to ask you to test it for me. We have also just approved the new backrest
prototype and have started a production run of these. Realistically we are looking at probably 3 to 4 weeks for the first prototype to be ready to go
and then figure another 4 to 5 weeks after that for a production run of these. Please apologize to the forum members for the delay and also I have
had several that have emailed me on this but I have chosen not to start answering everyone's emails about this because it turns into a time
consuming nightmare for me and my plate is full enough this time of year. "

Duane was very sorry he hasn't gotten this done sooner but got caught short when the bikes arrived so fast and he doesn't have access to one to do mock up. He also said he can supply Cal Sci and Givi windshields and Givi bags and guards for our bikes plus some other goodies.

Cool! ;) Thanks for getting that update. I was one of the others that emailed him about it. I wanted to make sure they knew there was some demand out there for this!

Now if Corbin or Sargent would only get working on a seat! :p

i am MOST interested in the backrest for my passenger.
i see from the website that the FJR style would work smashingly with a "U" back on top of my Jesse's.

I need a backrest ASAP...please get with me when ya can on the finished product.

Roger at Caribou Cases has a top rack in development which will accept his helmet size 34L case. He's also developing a backrest pad for the 34 L case, as well. This will be my solution. He said it should be available in about 2 1/2 weeks. If you have interest give him a call.

I hope that the backrest will fit on the Alt Rider luggage plate, and be reasonably adjustable

Put me on the list for one in any case

yeah...I don't really want any type of top case.
Looking strictly at backrests per the picture of the FJR or KGT style on the webpage.
With that in place, I could still use the JosUPac.com "U" pack...much like the now defunked Mags-Bags.
