During my three month hiatus from riding I found myself gravitating more toward my other hobbies...primarily music.

I've played guitar (not very well) since I was a teenager, and while I wish I could consider myself a musician, alas...it just isn't so.

I do greatly enjoy strumming away, however, and have picked up a few nice instruments over the years.

So, what other hobbies do you gents (and gentets, of course) enjoy to settle the mind when you're not riding?

Please show your other toys!

Here's my wall of Guitar Goodness...

Snow skiing, road and mountain biking, scuba diving and the occasional round of golf.

I do so miss SCUBA... My sinuses won't allow it anymore, but oh, what a peaceful time...

Was a go-to-every-practice\game dad. About 20 years straight.

That came to an abrupt end when the last kid played the last game of the last sport. (and graduated!)

So honestly, I have more time on my hands than I ever have. And I was worried about what that would be like when it got here.
Now that it's my "normal", it's nothing to have feared. I read a lot. Tons, actually. I watch sunrises and sunsets. I love making coffees and expresso. I babysit the grandkids. And finally, I hang out here.

Getting old has a nice pace to it. I can't really complain.

I dig the EVH Guitar, I've been thinking about getting one of the black and white ones myself....

Did you win the signed guitar or something? I ask only because I have noticed that people always seem to have a really cheap signed guitar, like someone ran to guitar center and bought the cheapest one they have (Squire Strat) to have it signed....like an intern at a radio station not knowing any better ran to get it for a station promo or something

I play some in my spare time too....reckon that's my only other hobby

Nice. I just talked with a guy at a Vinnie Moore concert in Detroit last weekend that showed me a pic of his guitar wall and he has that same EVH guitar.

My other passion is scuba diving. I've been diving all over the world, Australia, Indonesia, Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Sea of Cortez, etc, etc.

There is a company that gets celebrities to sign memorabilia (and certifies the signatures authentic) for charity auctions.

Certainly nothing special about the Squire, but the EVH autograph is pretty cool.

Mountain biking would be high on my passion list. Since retiring last year I have added a bit more golf followed by some hiking and fishing. Would like get back into photography. See what time and $$$ allow.

Gardening. No really, I like to supervise the wife gardening. Keeps her from coming up with silly ideas... Oh, and drinking wine - the grape is your friend ::008::

Moderation has never been my strong suit.

There have been a few changes to this lineup. I'm down to 6 guitars now.

You sound like me. I consider myself a guitar hack, not a musician. I love to hack away and make sounds that entertain me, but it's all for my own entertainment.

Very nice, Dirt_Dad!

What is the dark colored electric on the far left of your couch pic?

My problem with buying guitars is that I can't seem to let them go once I have them. The white Peavey on the far right in my pic I've had for 28 years - bought it when I was 15 - my first "real" guitar. It's in serious need of some TLC, and an Ovation acoustic not pictured that I've had for 23 years that hasn't been out of its case in years, but it went around the world with me when I was in the Navy and I can't part with it...

I really want a PRS Custom 24 and a Gelvin JG 3.0 (small custom builder in California) but the wall is full and I know once they're here they'll likely never leave. I also played a Taylor acoustic at GC that was most sweet... Guitars are like going down a rabbit hole for me - just wish I could play better - lol.
