Hey VAT, about your "aging bones" at 43 yrs - - they get "agier" (if that's a word!). Something to look forward to!
FREZ, "Dodgy" knees at 50 yrs? What's after "dodgy" and before replacement?
Managed to put 48 miles on yesterday - that makes - - well, let's see - - 48 total miles on the S10!
If I make it to June it'll be the 62nd time. Been on 2 wheels with very few breaks since 1965. Those are both bone breaks as well as brief periods without a MC title in hand.

Wow, 48.5 average age so far ! Topping at 75 !!! ( hope for a bright future for a 63 year old) and the youngest 24. With a little uncertainty depending on how to read the answers. Well, as they say, taste gets more refined with age...and knowledge grows of course.. ;D ::26::

Hey guys, here is a previous iteration of this question with a poll:
http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1445.0

The age is definitely skewed towards the "experienced age range" but it's a little unfair to suggest that those of us in the bottom tiers lack the taste of older riders. I was 25 when I bought my bike and am happy I did but the financial impact of buying a brand new bike was definitely something I had to think about and would guess that it stops a lot of young people from making the jump to the S10 over a cheaper used bike.

It would be interesting to compare these statistics to the same question asked of owner groups of other motorcycle models. If enough surveys were done this could show to what extent the S10 draws a significantly different owner "group" from other bikes.

That said, I am involved with our university motorcycle club and can say I am definitively out numbered by sport bikes.

cheers!

Bought my S10 for a 71st birthday present I felt was deserved!! "Orange Rush" refers to my favorite mountain bike. They say 70 is the new 60. ;)

WEll, I was 64 when I bought the first one, and 66 when I bought the second one, so ….. I guess I average out at 65.

Man, that's old. Who started this, anyway ??? ::025:: ::025:: ::003::

My "average age" was 34 when I purchased the beast....... my actual age was 68. It's soooo scary when I peek into the mirror and see this old guy staring back at me! ::26::

26 at purchase, 28 now.

Rode mini bikes in the ditches and around the grove out at my grandpa's farm as a little one, got out of bikes for years, then bought a KLR as a graduation present to myself from college.

Outgrew that (although a great re-intro to adventure riding) and quickly bought the S10.

I had the itch so bad for a big displacement ADV bike that we had to finance the S10 even though I don't typically finance "toys". Got tired of that and paid it off earlier last year.

The collective hive-mind here has me convinced the bar has been set pretty high for any future motorcycle I want.

Best decision ever. No regrets.
