Aux Power outlet wiring

Hi All,
I replaced my Aux Power outlet with a usb charger. When I removed the outlet I unplugged it from the wiring harness. I was trying to connect a PDM60 using the wire that went to the outlet but have run into problems. I took the voltmeter out and turned on the bike and got no reading, started the engine, nothing. I shut the bike off and put it in park with the key and still no reading. I tested the voltmeter on the battery and get the normal 12-14 volts. Ideas? I am not sure what I am missing.
If I can't get it working, what would be another good trigger wire connection near the battery? Thanks.

No. The harness is designed for 3 amps and is fused accordingly. Heated clothing will draw upwards of 10 amps.
And draw far, far too much amperage for the tiny wires leading to the outlet. Install the dedicated fused power pigtail with the correct connector that came with the heated gear, or buy one if you didn't get one with the heated gear and install it strait to the battery. Option B is to use a relay and make it a switched power source for the heated gear.

Thank you. I had an optimate fitted so I'll get the adaptor and use that.

Thanks again

You need more power for any 12v air compressor too. These have blown many 3a fuses.

I've got an sae connector installed for my motopressor so I bought an adapter for my recently purchased Keiss heated jacket. It saves having all kinds of pigtails to power everything and I can't see that I'll ever have to use 2 of the 3 things it powers at the same time (jacket, compressor, battery charger)
