Not having played with the connector beyond finding it, I would guess a volt meter would be all it would take. Getting fancy, I understand Eastern Beaver has many, if not access to all, the connectors one would find on a Japanese motorcycle... get a pigtail made that plugs right in.

I have my Oxford Adventures wired through the factory grip connector.

The pin out for the connector is as follows:

Blue/Black- 12V ignition on
Black/green- 12V engine on
Black- ground
LightGreen/White- to ECU

Pick how you want your Oxfords powered from one of the two power options above. I went with the Black/Green pin so power to the grips is only available with the engine running.
Ground from the Oxfords to the black pin on the grip connector.

A great (stateside) source for any connectors/terminals you may want with only a $5 minimum order is:

Do you know which one of the connectors fits the Tenere factory grip connector?

It's a Sumitomo sealed HM 090 series 4 pin connector. Second one down on the following link. You can also just buy the pins and seals separately at the bottom of the page...

They also have the factory AUX light connector which is different series. It's a Sumitimo MT 090 3 pin...

Thank you so much for this. I was having trouble finding what connectors they are. Yesterday I bought different compete 4 and 3 pin weatherproof sets and my plan for today was to cut off the original ones and install those. Frustration was driving me to cut the stock wiring harness. Now I'm going to order the right ones and wait patiently for their arrival. You helped me not do something stupid. ::008::

What fuses are used with these 2 plugs. I'll be wiring up a set of LED lights from Cyclops and a FZ-1 Fuzeblock. I want the higher amp one for the fuzeblock because I don't think the light will draw much. Fuzeblock will run heated gear, GPS, etc.

IIRC, only the three prong one (fog/driving lights) is fused, but regardless, you should use one of these connections only to trigger the fuzeblock, the power source should come straight from the battery.

It's my assumption that all the power for these these two plugs is routed through the 20amp "Options Fuse" but I need to prove that this weekend....I will put a meter on each and pull the fuse to see what happens.

Off the top of my head...

Grip connector fuse is in the #8 location. 10A "signalling fuse" (horn, brake light) (I think this fuse is 7.5A on 2014+)
Aux light connector fuse is the #12 location. 20A "options" fuse

Double check me but I think that's right...

Other than having a clean install (using the OEM connector and not the battery directly), do you gain anything else? I know if it's connected directly to the OEM connector, your fog lamps will come on and off using the sw/key. Will you still need the handlebar switch?

My last bike ended up with too many wires to the battery. I'm trying to avoid that but not to the extent of not having things wired properly. Directly to the battery, I'm hoping to just have battery tender leads.
My LED lights will be controlled by a Skene controller. They will be controlled by the stock high/low beam switch and are programable in 10% increments for high and low beam.
