Aux light wiring question again

So I have read thru pages of wiring posts and believe I have it wired correct. PIAA 530 kit came with switching relay. I verified the yellow wire off factory light relay has 12 volts while engine running and Hi beam on. Wired the switched power for PIAA switch (#3 on diagram) to yellow wire and can turn on low beams with ignition off. Seems a back feed of sorts. Wired as diagram indicates. Power leads directly to battery. Switched lead to yellow wire off relay. Not sure what I am missing. And I am sure the power light to switch should not be on all the time. Switch light goes from red to green as switched but one of the lights is on all the time . Even with ignition off. Any ideas?

I would run off the Aux plug. With a little effort you can make it plug and play. That way your lights will be tied to the ignition switch. You won't accidentally drain your battery. Worked like a charm for me.

I just installed the same PIAA 530 set on mine last week. In front of the battery is the auxiliary plug. It contains a red, brown and black wire. I believe the red is hot all the time, brown is hot with ignition on and black is ground. I hooked up the white wire from the light kit to the brown on the aux plug. I bought the connector from cycleterminal.com, MT090-3 is the part number. About $5 plus shipping. I believe you need the male half, but double check to make sure. If you buy the connector, you will also need a proper crimping tool for this type of terminal. Otherwise cut and splice.

Thanks for replies. I did as suggested and used the auxiliary plug and works fine. I was hoping to use the hi beam switch to cycle the lights but this will be okay. Thanks again for replies.
