Yep definitely need to install one of these PC8's on my new to me Gen 1 when I am able...I like how it easily integrates to provide multiple accessory circuit options.

Thanks to all for the knowledge on this great forum!

Sorry, I was referring to the wire color descriptions in Saul’s above post, specifically the PIAA pic with the descriptions noted in red font.

Yes, I purchased and installed the wiring harness from Eastern Beaver that plugs into the aux light plug, and everything went together perfectly.

Also, you confirmed that I should connect the red and black wires from the PIAA harness to a switched circuit on the EB PC-8.

The part I am not completely clear on is where to connect the White wire from the PIAA harness. I prefer not to use the on/off switch in the PIAA harness. I would like the PIAA’s to turn on when the engine starts, not when the ignition key is turned on. If I am understanding all of the previous posts correctly, the White wire from the PIAA harness needs to be spliced into the Brown wire in the aux plug?

Make sense?

I'm not familiar with the PIAA harness, so a quick Google search turned up this one:

http://www.piaa.com/store/p/365-LP530-LED-Wiring-Harness.aspx

Is that the one you bought? I don't see a red wire in it, so it doesn't seem correct.

Just wanted to thank everyone on this thread. I pretty much followed recommendations found on the last two pages exactly - purchased an adapter from Electrical Connection that plugged the harness into the aux plug. Easypeasy. The only hard part was keeping PIAA cables out of the way - there is surprisingly a great deal of them.

OK, that one has a relay installed, so that the white wire will trigger the lights when it receives the voltage from the factory aux light plug. You have two choices:

1) Bypass the relay (remove it from the harness), and wire the white and black wires that go to the lights directly to a switched circuit on the EB PC-8.

2) Tie the white wire from the relay to the same point as the red wire from the PIAA harness to a switched circuit on the EB PC-8.
