My one experience celebrating Australia Day was in Toronto, Canada while attending the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College. An Australian Army officer attending the course held the celebration at his rented home. He had the heat turned up to 80 degrees F. and filled the garage filled with sand. All attending wore swim suits as we drank Australian beer and cooked shrimp on the barbee. Good times.
