when I first came to the US in 2000, it was $US0.50 to AU$1.00

Yes, that was fairly stable for quite some time. I remember that rate back in 81.

Even as recent as a couple of years ago, the rate was down to the mid 60cents... I couldnt keep up with the amount of Ducati stuff that was being purchased from the States during that period..
