Tonight I spent some time aiming my two Aurora 2", 40w cube LEDs. I have them powered through a skene relay which allows me to run them at 10% when the low beam is on and at 100% when the high beam is activated. My goal was to use them as daytime running lights to make my bike more visible and to light up the night when I flipped my high beam switch. Each lamp has four 10w LEDs and produces 3200 lumens of light. I got one flood pattern and one spot pattern.
In aiming the lights, I didn't want them to be too high as even on 10% power with the low beams, they are quite a bit brighter than my normal lights. I should say that is because they don't have a strong vertical cut-off to the pattern so they need to be aimed at the cut-off hight of the normal beams or slightly lower.
I'm totally happy with the extra light and the Skene dimmer. I've just done a little night driving and didn't get flashed and with my own testing, the LEDs on the 10% power setting are not blinding at all unless you're looking at them from a position below the normal light cut-off pattern. (and then all lights will be blinding)
