Are K-60's still the way to go?

I'm rolling up on 8k miles my new '16. I put on Heidenau's in Fairbanks for my Alaska trip on my '12 and loved them. I don't want anything less aggressive. I had about 5k on them when I sold that bike. My buddy has gotten over 10k on the rears twice. Is there anything better?

Do yourself a favor and read about the Mitas Dakar E07.

I have had K60's and they were okay but just okay. Have had many sets of the stock BW 501/502 E tires and they are good. Had one set of the Battlax A40's and I liked them a lot. Installed the Mitas Dakar E07's and love them. They match my riding style and the 2015 ES suspension. Very good road tire that love twisty roads at any speed.

if you value your life, buy some Mitas. If you like sliding in the rain...K60s.

Ok, so I looked at some YouTube comparisons and other reviews. I'm going to buy the Dakar front and rear. Rocky Mountain didn't have any. Cycle Gear didn't have the Dakar in the front. Revzilla has both. I'm ready to pull the trigger unless there is another place to buy that benefits any members here. I searched the vendors but found no sellers. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help

Moto race sells them on eBay. Just ordered a set of TerraForce from them on Monday; they were at my door Tuesday afternoon.
Better price than RevZilla.

They look like they be a bit noisy...I'm getting A40's installed in a few days. I'm almost fully pavement riding though.

I had A40's before the Mitas Dakar E07. Liked the A40's (might eventually try them again) but I will be putting on another set of the Mitas Dakar E07 as I wear this set out. No they are not noisey.

Looking forward to your impressions.
It'll be after Thanksgiving now. Heading out of town to Arizona's beach. Been looking at No Mar machines. If I get one, I'll wait for it to change my tires

Last set of tires was a Front K60 and a Rear Mitas E-07. They both lasted 12,000kms which is my longest lasting tires so far. This time I am running Mitas E-07 Front and Rear. One thing I did notice while installing the Front Mitas was that it is rather flimsy compared to the K60 I took off. The Rear is tougher though. Another observation. The K60 Fronts are very noisy on the pavement. I am told the Mitas are not. Won't be checking till spring. The price of the Mitas makes them very attractive compared to the K60s. Traction wise, can't say as I noticed any difference between the two. Mostly ride bumpy pavement and dirt/gravel at speed.

Sounds like your E-07 front is not the Dakar version. Does it have a yellow stripe like in the above photo?

I like my K60's. Got 16,000 miles out of my front. It would have went more, however, I ran it below 30 PSI for a few thousand miles and it started cupping on the side lugs. Just changed the back out. It had 14,000 miles and still not down to the wear bars, however, it was getting a little squared off and a bit twitchy in the curves. As far as in the wet............who rides aggressively on wet roads? Those with the Mitas, I guess. Racer

My front tire was anything but flimsy. It kinda gave me a hard time installing it. I had to break the bead a couple of times to get it to stop leaking...but I won.
