Anyway to hold TCS settings or change it while moving?

Yea. Buy a GS12. This is one of the most annoying things about the S10. When you're use to shifting on the fly its a pain to have to completely stop. Other than that one thing, I like the S10 better over all. I usually just shift into TC 2 as I start the bike now. My rides are usually a combo of gravel and paved anyway. When I see gravel coming, I speed up and giggle a lot. ::001::

There is a bar switch that some have hardwired to the circuit board... that may have been for the other info buttons though. Some wanted to be able to toggle through all the info. Perhaps it can be done with the Traction button?

Yamaha could do it with a simple software change to the ECU.

The bar switch only remotes the instrument cluster buttons.

Thinking about this a bit more.....since you cannot change the TCS unless you are stopped....how about if you interrupt the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) so the ABS computer/ECU thinks the bike is stopped? That is a possibility to change the TCS on the fly. Not sure if it would have to be done prior to the ABS computer - which is where the VSS signal goes into first or after.

This would enable you to change the TCS on the fly, but it would not hold the setting. That is solely done with the firmware in either the ABS computer or ECU.

Messing with the wheel speed sensors on the fly might allow you to change TCS, but it would probably also fault both TCS and ABS. I doubt it would reset until you stopped again and you might have to cycle the ignition. Sorta defeats the purpose.

On the new R1 you can change 6 TCS settings on the fly. You only have to stop to go to TCS OFF. I believe that future Super Tenere models will have the ability to change TCS on the fly. If that happens, the next question would be if our previous models could be retrofitted to do that.

Highly doubtful; in the motorcycling world, I can't think if a single instance where electronic improvements like this have been backwards compatible.
