I'm considering buying a set of Caribou luggage for my 23 ST100. They turn Pelican cases into side cases for motorcycles with the ability to lock the cases as well as lock them to the bike. I know Pelican cases are indestructible and with the 35 litre cases, it will be a great size as well. Just wondering if anyone has used these and their experience with them. Thanks.

I didn't know much about them before you posted a link somewhere else on here. I was intrigued as I like hard bags... but after two trips my aluminum panniers are no longer waterproof. These are good grade aluminum panniers. I also don't think the price for the Pelicans is bad for mounts and bags. I would like a 40L size. But 35 makes you lighter. 14# per bag empty? Did I read that right? Thst is heavier than an aluminum...but that’s why they are tougher.
If you get them let us know what you think of them.

I have 'em. Happy with them for years. Moved them over from my vstrom. I've gone through multiple racks in wrecks, but the cases have held up.

Side open can be a little awkward.

They're heavy but I don't know how it compares to Al boxes.

Good to know, thanks for the feedback. Were they tough to mount the racks and cases?

Yes, the 35L bags were 14lbs each but that includes the metal mounting hardware. Not light but probably part of what makes them durable.

I have found a potential alternative, but not a cheaper alternative :) I like these Monsoon Evo semi rigid bags which are fully waterproof. They attach to several racks, I'd probably go with the Touratech racks. All in for two bags and the racks, $1337. I like the light weight of it all and the ease of connection to the bike.

The bags are fine if you are ready to pay big bucks but I would suggest having a look at the Viking Bags as well due to their prices.
Their pricing was not too bad at $994 for the cases and racks. I have however, decided to go a different route. I decided to pull the trigger on Mosko Moto Backcountry soft luggage mounted to racks. They seem awesome and I like the look and space. I've already purchased and mounted compatible racks and will order the luggage in a few weeks. These were not cheap either though. What is these days if you buy good quality stuff?

I bought Caribou Cases for my first Super Tenere back in 2011. They were installed on 3 of my 4 Super Teneres. Still using those cases today on my Super Adventure.

Indestructible is too mild a word to describe them. My computer was in the left case when a deer knocked the case off the bike while it was totaling my Tenere. The case went bouncing down the highway at 75 MPH. I'm still using the case and computer today.

No idea how anything else could possibly be better.

Sorry I missed your post, You've probably moved on by now but I still have a set of those Caribou's if you are interested.

I’ve got the moskomoto 35L bags and mounts on two bikes. On/off and switch-ability are worth the dough. I have hard and soft cases. Use the hard cases with top opening the most. Have yet to use the soft cases.
