So, when I saw this the other day, I thought the price was a little high. I paid $15,100 for my '17 ES zero miles brand new. BUT, mine didn't have boxes, bars, or an aftermarket windshield. So, there's that. Then, the other day there was a '14 ES with 43K miles, aftermarket boxes, bars, and Altrider skid plate for $9,000. Maybe this bike is less high than my initial impression.. . . . But is the price right? Don’t think so. . . .
I just bought my first S10. 6800 with 2k miles for a 13. Obviolsy the low miles are a bit of an anomaly but I wasn't able to find a gen 2 near me with less than 40k for cheaper than 13k. I believe people are waking up and realizing the ST is better than the reveiws led them to believe And the price is going up. I had a hard time finding mine and still there The only 4 for sale withing 150 miles of me.So, when I saw this the other day, I thought the price was a little high. Yeah that's exactly the plan. Wiring recalls were done by the dealer before they listed it. Mccruise, seat upgrade, and cruise are the first priorities. I plan to do the clutch basket and cct over the winter. Have a few 3k+ mile trips planned next year. That sounds good. Get you a McCruise and crash bars immediately. I've seen lots of riders on forums update a bike they like just to get cruise. Hope you can stand the stock seat. Check with yamaha to see if the 2 wiring calls have been done. One of my headlight wires was melted down charred.
I was thinking the same thing but I have owned all sorts of bikes one a few of them were old Ironhead Harley sportsters so sometimes I feel like I'm immune to vibrations. 100% didn't notice this when riding the bike but everyone keeps telling me to change it. The only real thing I'm worried about is finding good protection because it seems like the Aftermarket is leaving this bike behind right when the market is waking up to it lol.If you don’t feel any vibes. It’s not gonna fail. I changed mines years ago. Just because. I didn’t really notice any difference.
My, new to me, 2013 with 24K miles has No noticeable vibrations and the P.O. stated he did not change the basket. No buzz, clear mirrors, no numb hands that I can feel. Now I will say I dont ride with a death grip on the bars. Ive ridden bikes that vibrate. Norton 750, Triumph Bonneville, BMW Brick. Now those are buzzy and make the S10 feel like a sewing machine- not VFR/Triumph Triple smooth but not bad IMHO! My buddy had a 74 Bonnie that would pogo the front wheel off the ground on its center stand when running. If you don’t feel any vibes. It’s not gonna fail. I changed mines years ago. Just because. I'm coming off an inline 4 so it doesn't get a lot smoother than that haha. But it didn't feel any different than other twins I've ridden. My, new to me, 2013 with 24K miles has No noticeable vibrations and the P.O. stated he did not change the basket.
