I owned one for a decade and about 50K miles. One of my favorite all-time bikes, but quirky as hell and it has the usual BMW reliability concerns. Some maintenance is dead-simple (e.g. valves) and some is ridiculously hard (e.g., battery and air filter access). Makes a lot better sport-tourer than sportbike IMHO.

Most R1100S riders hang out on the Pelican forum; if you're interested in this one, I'd head over there, read up for a bit to see if this is your cup of tea and possibly ask questions.

One of the best looking BMW's ever made IMO.
My riding buddy bought one that looks just like it last year and he paid about $1500 more than that.
