Hi Somerset

I'm in Ilminster with an almost brand new 14 model in matt grey.

If you do the lanes ride again I may be in as I really like those local "roads" with grass etc in the centre and deep high sides that we seem to have an abundance of round these parts!

cheers
Mark

Hello Mark, I think it might be a shorter version in September so if anyone is interested then please let me know and I'll start planning.

That sounds great Burt, would be good to get round those lanes too. Pick a date and I'll try to make it. I can always do another in the spring.

Thanks Burt.

I think I will have to pass on this one as I am away on holiday for a week beginning October. My weekends are mostly taken with daughter visiting, personal stuff and sometimes work. Weekdays are really best for me as I am self employed and am fortunate enough to be able to pick weekdays I work within reason.

If anyone can do weekdays let me know and I'll sort a route out of local Somerset/East Devon/Dorset lanes that I ride frequently. They will be road legal tarmac based but with possible grass-mud on parts of the surface. I specialise on roads that are signed "Unsuitable for Motors"! The S10 with decent 80/20 tyres works great.

Cheers
Mark

Sorry Burt, I've been away for some time as I've had a lot of problems at home, how are you doing? Have you been on a run yet?

May be able to get something together for the last weekend if interested or you can always join us in Wales if you like??

Hi. I checked and can't do last weekend of Sept. I can do 15 or 16 October or days in the week as self employed?
Let me know. Hopefully we can get a few others out too?
Mark

Hello Mark, sorry to be a let down but I'm not able to get cover for this weekend so it stays with me, can't wander too far from work. With the way things are going I think this will have to be a 2017 thing for me, however Burt might still be around.

Hi Greg

Thanks for your post. I see you are in Devon which is not far from me. I'll have a look at dates. Can you do days in the week?
If anyone else is interested please contact me.
My ride will be Somerset/Wiltshire/Dorset/Devon borders with a mix of roads consisting of narrow single carriageway country Tarmac lanes and "unsuitable for motorised vehicles" signed lanes. A lot of grass, mud and loose stones in most of them so dual sport tyres required e.g. Tkc 70 or 80 mitas E07 but as a minimum Tourance pattern style! All these roads do have tarmac under them but in places you can't see it due to the coverage of other stuff. Pace will be slow to suit the conditions and conditions and our bikes. Any questions ask and I'll advise dates. Weekdays for me are best but can do the odd Sat/Sun.
Thanks Mark

Hi Mark..

I have Anakee 2's on my S10 and K60 scouts on my Tiger so anything more than gravely lanes and thin mud i'll bring the Tiger...

But can ride mid week if you fancy meeting up for a coffee and a ride...

Or I could swap the tyres!!! They're the same size!!

Hi Greg
This is the type of stuff I'm looking at riding!
I'm trying to photo log all the local "Unsuitable for Motorised Vehicles" signed lanes in Somerset and ride as many as possible. When I see these signs they are like a red rag to a bull and I just want to ride them.
My rideout will feature some of these. Do you fancy stuff like this interlaced with C type country roads? Open to others also.
