Anyone had a custom top box made for them?

I'm bound and determined not to spend 400+ dollars on a top box for my Tenere, so I've been thinking about contacting some metal shops in the area to get a quote on a custom box. Has anyone had this done? If so, about how much did it run? And what size did you have it made? I made a cardboard template last night (proves how exciting my Friday night's are) of a box that was 17x13x13, seemed about perfect for my application. Thanks in advance for any responses.

What's you're estimated budget to have one custom made? Might help us figure something out for you a little easier...

If you have to go with metal, well then this idea is out. How about a Pelican case? They are almost bomb proof, well you know what I mean. They have variety of sizes.

Well I'm shooting for 200 or less but I have serious doubts that will happen. I requested a quote on a pelican case, still waiting for them to get back to me about pricing, but from what I've seen they're 250+. I've looked at the muffin top cases before, but I'll check them out again. Thanks.

Definitely didn't remember those muffin top top boxes being that cheap.. might have to go that route after all! Will definitely save me a lot of headache. Thanks.
