I have fitted a set and the sales blurb says you can set the low-pressure minimum monitoring level as well as the high, but the instructions only mention how to do the high maximum. When cold my low pressure on the front flashes at 34 psi, not the 29 psi the unit is factory set at. So in the colder weather, it constantly flashes because the tire will not warm up and I, therefore, have no Idea what the rear tire pressure is (because if the unit thinks something is wrong, the display will flash only the tire that is causing a problem) at the start of a ride without checking it, which kind of defeats the purpose of having them on. If you have got them on and know how to adjust the low-pressure setting I would be grateful if you could share your knowledge.

I have them and I know the low CAN be set. When I lowered my pressure last summer for the deep sand on the CDT, it wouldn't quit beeping. Low was set at 26 at the time and I had to go to 20psi to keep control of the pig. I will check the directions and reset mine to a little lower here in the next few days. If I am successful I will let you know. BTW, they are really useful for piece of mind riding with our Arizona rocks

I am curious..
The battery inside the valve cap, how long does a battery last.
I have a friend that have the Garmin GPS and the garmin pressure sensor (valve cap), and he got tired of them because of the very short battery life.

I went out and checked mine. I was wrong. It only goes down to 29 psi for the low. There is no high on mine.
I held the set button until it went into program mode...
1. psi/bar
2. C/F
3. Pressure set (mine is 29)
4. Temp set (left at default)
5. Voltage

The batteries are original. Almost a year old.

Are the batteries replaceable ? My Garmin also has that feature but after spending a fortune I never spent the extra money to get the special valve caps.

I can only adjust the high pressure (I put mine up to 50psi.) But when I cycle to the next adjustment, it go's to temperature, no low pressure adjustment. And now the weather is getting colder, unless I am on a long, fast highway the front never getts warm enough to go over an indicated 33psi, so the display is constantly flashing red even though the pressure is OK.
The batteries should last about a year, less with high mileage. The Steel-Mate comes with a tool to replace the button batteries, they are very cheap, I bought 10 for about £6/$8. I carry a couple under the seat.

I'm not the expert on this but on the 3rd setting there is no indication on if it's high or low pressure. I think default is 34 psi. I set mine at 29 because I lower my air pressure for a lot of off-road even though some say it's not good to do with spoked wheels. Also I think I read that the factory set the alarm beep at 25 psi and is not adjustable. I don't think there is any reason for a high setting. I bought this to let me know when I develop a leak while riding.

Interesting, my 3rd setting is for high, I pushed it to 50 because when the rear warmed up, it was flashing at 46. If I can't get it sorted I'm thinking of removing it, because as it is it's more of a confusion than a help.

I'm not sure what model I have . I can't find the box. On the 3rd setting, there is no indication if it's high or low. I just assumed it was low. No flashing at all. Only time it beeps is when I lower my pressure. The 4th setting is for temp. I need to find my instructions. I don't usually throw that stuff away.

I have done a factory reset, that's holding all three buttons in for a few seconds until the 2 green led's flash. I checked the pressures and adjusted to 33/42psi, then took the bike out to recalibrate. That did the trick.
I changed the bar to psi, but that's all. Cycling to the pressure adjustment setting and it is 36psi and as I do not know what tire it corresponds too, I left well enough alone. The sensor seems happy now.
