I was a year rounder in LA years ago.

After moving to the DC region where downtown parking is hard to find, commuted on the bike till there would be ice on the road. There've been 5 degree days for the hour commute and the heated jacket/gloves made it possible. The roads get so heavily salted here I couldn't keep up with the green electric corrosion in a bike which effectively killed it. After that I changed to not ride till there were at least a couple of rain storms washing the roads and the pavement wasn't white.

Since retiring in August I need the truck to carry stuff most days and just ride for fun.

Being in Canada, you really have to enjoy being wet to ride year round. I've only had motorcycles when I was 16, but not since since then, always had a car to go along with it.

A few years ago I stopped having a bike insured Nov -> Feb as I found I just didn't enjoy the riding in the shitty conditions like I used to.

It's great that you do it!

Did it for 5 years exclusively while living in Las Vegas and Phoenix, primarily commuting, but did get some fun rides in here and there. I had a Dodge Ram 1500 that I had a front tire come off at 70mph on the 15 through the resort corridor, and then not long after that had it blow a tire while driving home. So I could have either spent a lot of money replacing tires and wheels, or sell it and continue to ride the bike most days (which is what I was doing at that time anyway). My wife had her car and I still had my motorhome at the time...

I originally got on the street due to LA traffic, and having to cover 4 counties worth of properties, although the main catalyst was commuting from Buena Park to Beverly Hills.

I know a young lady who rides a 350 kawasaki to work everyday. She has a bicycle otherwise. She rides to ADV rallies where I see her twice a year, but she doesn't go on rides. She pretty much only uses the bike for commuting and not fun.
I am more curious as to what Kawasaki 350 she rides, than anything else. The last one they ever made was from the early '70's.

So Cal here.

Makes it alot easier to be on 2 wheels almost 100% of the time. Older I get the less I have patience for So Cal traffic or the fact its gotten so bad the last 10 yrs. I need to split traffic everywhere. Have a built Jeep Wrangler, but it goes out for trail runs only pretty much.

Have 3 MCs S10 & 2 HDs, 40 degrees is the norm for rides in the morning here going to work. The Streetglide is my choice of rides this time of year and keeping the cold off me.

Yep...sure do. That's why I'm on my 2nd Tenere....first one had 120k miles on it...this one is catching up. Rain/Snow etc..I'd still rather be on the bike

We have a 25 year old Toyota Colorado that's insured for 4000m per year, but only uses about 2500 for visiting family, shopping and hospital appointments. The Ten. gets used for touring, but this time of year it's just the odd 50 or 100 mile round trip to a coffee and bacon sandwich to keep her, and me turned over.

Not SOLELY on my S10 (or previous to that, either of my two Suzie-Q cruisers), but as much as the weather allows, yes. So long as it's isn't iced up/snowed out on the roads, I will ride year round in Ohio. Especially helpful are the heated grips that the S10 has (that I am experiencing this year)
