The biggest thing for me to help knee pain was to sell my Suzuki SV1000S and buy the Tenere Still a little on the ST very occasionally, it mostly seems to be from having constant tension from the quads pushing out on lower leg to support some weight with your legs and feet and sitting still for long periods of time, especially if your butt is sore and you are trying to get a little weight off your butt, by pushing with your legs. The sitting still seems to be a major component also because I can ride a trials or enduro bike all day, mostly standing up, without my knees and legs bothering me a bit. So getting a seat that doesn't bother you so that you aren't constantly pushing with your feet to ease the pain in your butt could help, I have the corbin on my ST.
