I have not bought a tenere yet, but will within the next year. I have a 2010 goldwing (this is my second goldwing) and am pretty active on the gl1800riders board. I put about 35,000 miles a year on my goldwing, do quite a few Iron Butt rides. I camp with my goldwing a lot during the year.

I grew up on motocross, and my bikes up until my goldwing were dirt bikes. Loved my honda 650xl. Go to Colorado often and I have hit all the paved roads numerous times, now I want to explore those dirty crusty roads.

My buddy KeithE joined today as well, he got his st first (envy envy envy).

I have been a member at advrider for several years always envious of those guys on the gsa. However, I was always leery to buy one due to the fd failures and high cost of maintenance. Looks like Yamaha has hit it out of the park with the 2014 es, I have grown spoiled on the goldwing with cruise control.

I have a goal of going to the arctic circle in 2017. So I want to buy a good used es in 2016 and get acclimated to be ready for 2017! This looks like a great board and is very active.

BTW, I am in Fort Worth!

::004::, Mr. K, from Colorado.

I, too, am interested in taking my '14 ES to Deadhorse, or at least the Arctic Circle, probably in '17.

It's good to have a plan. Better when you have a bike that wants to take you there!

I just got back from Louisiana to Grand Canyon and back on my new-to-me 2012. She didn't miss a beat!
Comfortable too - for me. I've never ridden a GW but figure they are a whole other world. Personally, I like being able to see a road and say "wonder where that goes?" and GO!
You sound like you've found a good fit -here and with the Tenere!
Welcome!
