Snow Peak Mini Flame lantern by BRS $14.00 shipped Ebay..
My friend has the snow peak this is a complete clone of it.
I had to try it out and it does put out decent light for what it is.
Ya, I think I'd go for one of the many cheap LED lanterns available now days.
Back in the day, we used to use the cheap candle lanterns that used tea lights. if you had a few around camp, your eyes would adjust and you'd see OK around camp.
It was cheap and as the reviews for the Snow Peak version $40.00 doesn't take much breeze to blow it out.
I have to say it does produce good light would be good inside a large tent or small cabin uses little fuel as well. Novelties!! :
