Very nice. This is the perfect way for Yamaha to convince me to buy one as my next street bike. It's a perfectly competent street ride, but does so much more. Makes me want to get out to Hatfield & McCoy in West Virginia and just blast around...and with this bike, I can. :p

I have been wondering if there was much in the Hatfield/McCoy complex that the S10 could comfortably do. I've really wanted to go try that area but had a hard time justifying hauling a dirt bike all the way out there only to haul it back. With the S10, all kinds of possibilities are on the table. A nice ride out there, some great road riding on the nice curvy roads out in that area, some nice off-road while out there, and then a nice road ride back.

So dirt dad, is there virtually an endless supply of dirt miles for the S10 out there? I know the HM area is huge but I've seen some vid and some of it is young-pro-on-a-real-woods-bike single track. in other words, not appropriate for an aging explorer on a 575# adventure bike.

There are several trail networks, I'm most familiar with the Little Coal River network. Trails are color coded for easy through difficult. On that network there are lots of easy trails which are basically passable by most 4WD trucks and I think would be great fun on the S10. Moving up to a moderate trail could become a bit much on the heavy S10, but that would depend on skill level. I can think of a few I would not do on the big bike. Trails marked for the hard level are usually very, very technical and I don't even do those on my ATV.

The biggest issue I see with the S10 on Little Coal River would be the first mile in from the parking lot. It's a little bit up and down and tight for the first mile. I do know there is a place where the trail meets a road and that would be the easiest place to get on. I've only ridden one other network and that trailhead was an easy ride right from the parking lot. Stay on the trails marked easiest and you should have little issue.

Here's a video I made on the Little Coal River trail network back in 2004. Starting at about 1:10 you'll see a good example of the easy trails and some moderate trails (water crossings): Hatfield McCoy ATV Ride
If you do go I highly recommend Kathryn's Kabins shown in the video. It's run by the county sheriff (or he was back then). He's a great guy and trail access was perfect.

Thanks, it is a fantastic place to ride. Hours and hours of great trails. We did it three years in a row and it was always a blast.

How big do you think that front tire is on the white one. That looked really wide. Greta in the sand I suspect

That's why I took the name. I got my daughter riding dirt toys and we spent years hitting the trails. Eventually other activities got in the way, but it was great while it lasted.

Any idea where the video of the S10 was made? Must be somewhere in North Africa I guess, but where? It was amazing to see so many S10's together in what looks like its natural habitat!
