I elected to have Ernie paint it primer grey to protect the aluminium until I can get it painted or powder coated...What color should I do????

Where do you guys ride to need this?
A lot of folks think it's so we can go further. That's one benefit but not the most important. The main reason is to be able to manage your stops. How many times have you stopped for fuel when you didn't need fuel but you didn't know if you could make it to the next available location? Lot's I'm sure. The aux fuel gives you the ability to drive across the desert in the middle of the night and not worry about running out of gas.

That's a nice design.

I recently replaced my smashed Tenere and the replacement came with the Yamaha panniers. I bolted my existing aux cell from the wreck onto the new bike:

Sweet.

Unfortunately the OEM panniers are mounted in such a way that the lids hit the tank when opening.

Not so sweet.

So I put the pelican cases from the wreck back on.

Sweet.

Those OEM panniers were nice though. If only my tank were as narrow as yours.

It's not that there is no gas stations,if your riding after hrs and the stations are closed or the self serve stations in the USA ask for your Zip code and your from out of country your screwed. Been there done that.

I'd love to have a few more gallons onboard. Riding with a guy with a GSA, we often stop for gas before we're ready because I need it.

sometimes 90210 works :)..but most times it does not, as it tries to match the info on your cc...

One question...was the valve supplied by Ernie or did you source the one in the photos yourself? I'd rather not loop my tubing around to the right side of the bike. I'll see about finding a different valve so it can go down the left and have a more direct flow.

I have one of these tanks for Ernie on order. Still need to drill the main tank and install the bulkhead fitting.

I used to have a European based CC and the US banks told me to use 99999, and it worked. This was quite a few years ago, just wanted to let you know there is always a way if you ask the right question to the right person

yeah Erine gave me that valve, the only reason I looped it around to the right side is because my cruise control unit is under the seat on the left side and hose won't fit cleanly. Its has worked flawless so far...

I would look up Eric V's thread on here he routed it more direct on the left side and has some good pictures on the install.....I might rework the so I can get the grab handles back on...The right one work great but the valve setup blocks the left from going on....would be nce to have the handle to get the bike on the center stand....
