So a couple friends wanted to take their first run on ACH as it's known here locally. Decided to join them, and tag along. Long story short everyone bailed and I was left sitting at the shell station at the base all dressed up with noplace to go!! 8)
I hadn't ever worn my one piece suit on the Tenere, but today felt like a good day to say screw it, at least the colors match. I'll be that guy on the big ADV bike in a one piece suit with pucks.
I'll get some pics later, but this was an impromptu ride with nobody to take photos. ::006::
Headed up the hill leading a couple ducati's that I ran into, 899 and 1199's. running a great pace up the hill, enjoying the absolutely epic riding conditions! ::018:: A little warm, but perfect summer afternoon sun, no traffic and a clean piece of really great pavement ahead of me.
One corner led to another until next thing I realize I'm back in race form and I feel that old skimmmmmmm as my knee puck gently touches down and glides across the apex!!! ::003:: ::001:amn, shouldn't be riding this hard on the Tenere! But she did it, and it was smooth and beautiful and then I dragged a footpeg on the ground, scared the crap out of myself and really slowed down. ::010:: ::024::
I need to install that Elka rear shock with the right spring on it, and maybe get another canyon bike. Too bad my wife has a new rule, I bring home another bike and she brings home another cat!!!! She works in a vet so it's not even hard for her to make happen. ::007::
After the trip up, more of the same conditions on the ride home, however the sun was a bit in the eyes untill we reached the last 8 miles. Then every curve left epic views of the city with no smog in sight(a very rare occurrence on summer afternoons in L.A.
Ahh the joys of summer, heading back tomorrow, but will probably take the wifes GS500 instead
