So as a joke I re-posted a Goldwing for sale to my wifes Facebook page asking if I could have one....well the response was't what I was expecting.... She said If I get one of those she would ride with me....she doesn't like to ride pillion on the S10. So after making it clear I wasn't getting rid of the Yammy...I began a search for a used Goldwing.....and here it is....

2007 Comfort/Nav 35K

So thats a Honda, Yamaha and a Kawasaki in my garage....I just need a Suzuki to complete the Japanese Quadfecta :D

Congrats on the new bike. Looks more like a rolling, two wheeled Barcalounger... ::025:: But if it will help your better half to ride with you good going. I fell into that trap in 2007. Mine said she would ride with me so I went out and bought a Yamaha Royal Star. She never got on it, not even to try the seat out. My daughter went everywhere on it with me.

Barcalounger is exactly what I called it ::025::.... The wife has sat on it....no rides yet but my 13 year old daughter did, she loved it and I didn't even know she was back there. I took it to work this morning....had to stay on the paved roads :(....the S10 won't get lonely...

Enjoy the new toy ::008:: I've always found Goldwing's slightly odd, you look at them and they appear huge and then you sit on it and it's not as spacious at it looks ? Probably just me...

Its hard to compare it to other bikes I have owned....this is the first cruiser/true touring bike I have ever owned. The handling is a lot different. At low speeds it seems to want to turn in quicker at high speeds much slower. The seating postilion is very upright and you don't have that connected feel you have on sportier bikes. On the highway its awesome...smooth, plenty of power, plenty of wind protection, cruise control, nav, decent radio....This is where is shines, I am sure once I get use to it I will like it more. I already dragged a peg because I over cooked a corner. Thats easy to do. Speed is harder to judge because the darn thing is so smooth. So far I'm happy with it but I will be back on the S10 once I knock the shine off the GW.

Totally know the feeling. I have a Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe. That was my dream bike, an upgrade to 1900 CC from my 1300 Tour Deluxe. Got a trunk once I borrowed one from a friend. Was just supposed to be for a short run. Wife asked if we could keep it for the rest of the ride. A couple of weeks later I had one. Still have that bike, but I want a patch for my Star Vest, "All 50".

And I really do want to earn it. So far I have 46 of the 50. (And for those to our East, I also have Romania! And would like to ride the mountains over there!) That said I bought the S10 to do Alaska. Now with over 8K miles, I am conflicted. That damn off road thing is easier to ride.

I have an Iron Butt (1K miles in 24 hours) on the Strat. Did not want to ride for a few days. Coming back from Romney this year was 988 miles in 17 hours. Rode to work 2 days later.

So while I have the show bike (several trophies and lots of chrome) the one I do not care what it looks like is what I prefer to ride if the wife is not with me.

Congratulation on the new ride! It's nice to be a able to share your passion for riding with your wife, good on her! Go far, be safe, have fun!

The handling of the modern GW is amazing, ya gotta ride to believe it, and pillion comfort is the best in the business. Ya done good! ::008::
