AltRider tail luggage rack storage ideas

I want to add permanent storage for my CyclePump and tire repair kit, and I am looking for inspiration and ideas. I was thinking of getting a Givi toolbox, but the way my Jesse Luggage rack is set up would make access difficult, so now I am thinking about how to repurpose the odd wasted space in my AltRider tail luggage rack.

As you can see in the pics below, there is roughly 7x7x3 inch space below the top rack.


I don't think I have the fab skills to create my own metal or plastic box. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could use to store tools in this space that would be waterproof?

I really can't tell you how to search for the thread but it seems to me like some here on this forum years ago made a box to go inside a rack like that.

As soon as I hit Post, I remembered I had an extra GiantLoop Possibles Pouch, and sure enough, it fits perfectly into this space. I will post pictures later today once I get more time.

I have a different storage solution for the Super Ten. If you're interested.... Lookin at all the wasted space under my luggage rack plate...I came up with this idea.... A relatively simple solution using a Pelican 1150 case...a Givi M3 series plate ..& the custom bracket I designed The bracket...

I like the results. I initially hoped to run all of the straps to the lower part of the rack to make it more stealthy, but this will work for now. I got my pump, tire irons, zip ties, axle wrench, and hex nuts into the Possibles Pouch. I ordered a new patch kit from MotoPumps that is way smaller than my current kit.

Possibly one of the small
Apache cases would fit? Personally it zones like a great spot for stuffing some small dry bags that would fit in there.

Kinda sorta but not explicitly (and not advertised as such, it's just heavy denier nylon). I used a ziploc freezer bag for stuff I didn't want to get wet.

Try smaller spacers under the lower metal plate and adding spacers below the upper plate.
The result is about 4.5" of vertical space. Enough for many tools, plug kit and inflator.

I made a custom bag out of Top Gear boat cover material tough as nails and very watertight works great little Valco to keep it in place
