I'm contemplating using an AltRider pillion luggage rack (that takes the place of the passenger seat) to mount a 3-4 gallon fuel cell.

I may mount it directly to the rack or I may use the MapleFarkels RAM mount system.

It seems like a good place to mount the fuel as the cell fully fueled will weigh much less than the smallest passenger.

Does anyone have suggestions yay or nay on my idea?

I'd personally use two 1.75 Gallon Rotopax with the two-stack extension handle. If you fill the 1.75 gallon packs all the way, they're 2 gallons, and they will be much smaller stacked like that then some other fuel cells. The pillion area is perfect for it, but you could also do it over the rear luggage rack if you have the rear rack from AltRider. Their pillion rack is predrilled for the Rotopax system.
