Just curious if the Altrider Crashbars and the ACD Skid plate will work together. I never even thought about the mounting points for the Altrider crashbars...hopefully they don't use some of the same points?

Yes this works. My S10 has an ACD skid plate with AltRider crash guards. I replaced the front bolts with studs. That way you can easily take the skid plate off for oil changes without messing with the crash guards. The studs will also keep you from cross threading the bolts. This is very easy to do -- DAMHIKT....

Could you post the specifics on the studs you used for your project. This sounds like a better way to go about it. Any and all info would be appreciated...maybe a couple of pics of the stud/assembly. I am a visual learner........

I have the acd with altrider...no studs. I don't really think it's a big deal to remove the bolts and I like the cleaner look...I like to have a bit of anti-seize where water sneaks in and I also inspect each bolt for corrosion at that time. I don't have to mess with the crash bars at all as they stay in place just fine with the two front bolts removed. I will be adding a thin washer between the plate and crash bars though in the future to give 'just' a little more room on the front exhaust. As for cross-threading, just make sure you always start them by hand and thread the bolts in as far as you can that way before getting the wrench on them...the little bit of anti-seize helps to lube the threads as well. Works great for me.

Same set up here. I need to shorten them some, but I went the stud route. Nut and washer holding the crash bar tight are the same thickness as the spacer the ACD needs for it's clearances. Win win.
