Alternative mirrors

A few years ago some idiot sideswiped me in Moldova, went down at 50mph. Put some scratches on the crashbars and panniers, and broke a mirror (but that's all - love Barkbusters!). I found a replacement mirror in Bulgaria, looks like a replica of the original except it has a different shaft. Engraved on the mirror is the brand (I guess) "Powder". Cost, $5. Works just as well as the original, which costs $50.

Now I'm in Sarajevo and someone knocked the bike over while parked and broke the last remaining original mirror... I'd really like to find another "Powder" (I guess it's generic Chinese?) but no luck so far. Any idea where to find in the US? Or something similar? I just need something cheap that works as well as the originals. If better, that would be better! But still has to be cheap . I have a friend coming from the US soon and she could bring for me.

yeah they look pretty good for a quarter the price of OEM. Not a huge fan of the shape but there's a few others to look at there and anyway, I can live with that shape if it comes to it! Thanks Oldrider...

Looked at them, would be good but fail on the price test. About $125 the pair with all the bits added together.

The official Yamaha dealer is a workshop behind somebody's house! So no, bike shops are not common here and when you find them they aren't well stocked. I did find one good one, about 30km out of town, but no mirrors. Will have another look around tomorrow but otherwise I'll order from the US.

Checking the Emgo, they look identical to the two different brands I was looking at on Amazon, just sold by each rather than as a pair. I think they all came from the same factory

I bought one from Dennis Kirk. It was about $27. Can't tell the difference between it and the OE and it seems to work well

Did you get some of these mirrors? Are they any good? My gen 1 mirrors are toast. They won't stay in position.

The good feature on the Double Takes is the glass is replaceable and they are really easy to adjust. Any kind of mirror will break in a tip over if it hits the ground.
