One of these days I'll make an attempt at posting some pictures, but I'm not sure how to do it. Until then take a look at Altrider's website, they have a series of pictures of the bars on a white ST. Note that there is not a mounting tab under the headlight. Some of the early prototypes had one. I am really behind the times on the smart phone thing. I don't even have a cell phone. I have a satellite phone that is only activated for trips and I have made 2 calls on it. The poor coverage and the poor reception with cell phones just turned me off. My buddy from Florida can call me on his cell,(I live in Wisconsin) but I can't call my daughter who lives 10 miles away because of some mysterious dead spot. So, I do have a digital camera that I can use to load some pictures on my computer. Then we'll see what happens.
When you have the pic transferred to your computer, you can upload it as an attachment using the full reply page (not the quick reply link). You will probably have to re-size it before adding it, as the maximum individual file size is 250KB, and most modern digital pictures easily exceed that size.

That looks nice. But from the picture it looks like it would block any lights you have mounted below the headlight, like the 6" Rigid. Or not?

Helimark, I don't know what to tell you about mounting the lights as I'm not familiar with the 6" Rigid. I would think that a small light bar could be mounted to the upper bars under the headlight as long as it doesn't hit the front fender. Maybe in front of the upper bars rather than below. I rarely ride at night, so it's not a big deal for me. I may buy a set of the OEM Yamaha lights and mount them with something similar to the Touratech style mounts or fabricate my own mounts. The Touratech mounts attach to the bikes "fairing" above the bars on either side of the headlight.

Hi @HeliMark
Have installed the upper bars just yesterday. I strongly believe, that these bars will prevent installation of the aux lights right under the OEM ones. By saying that I mean, that the installations, like on the pics, won't do.
I will use bars clamps kits to install additional lights.

... The plastic cover on the right (battery) side can still be removed with the upper bars...
@magic regarding the covers on the right side, where the battery is, were you able to remove both covers (upper and lower)?

I tried yesterday, but could manage to remove only lower plastic cover (to do this I had to remove screws from the upper plastic), but the upper cover stayed there and looked like no way out (even with a slight bend)
Any suggestions?

I don't think I've ever tried to remove the top cover. In fact I'm not sure what's even under there.

I put a new battery in mine yesterday and wired in the power cord for my Garmin 395. I was able to remove both upper and lower covers with the upper crash bars in place. I loosened up the mounting bolts for the Altrider lower bars allowing the bars to spring out giving me enough room. I also put an old Harley tee shirt (shop rag) in there to protect the paint.

I can also confirm that you can remove both upper and lower covers with the upper crash bar installed.

I remember reading this thread when I ordered my Alt Rider crash guards in April 2016 and debating whether I needed the upper guard. I couldn't envision a scenario that I would need it. Well, if you need a little persuasion, here it is.

I was on a greasy mountain road and as I attempted to exit a rut I found myself an immediately skid to the side of the road where I hit a tree with the impact at the corner of the headlight and the left corner in front of the air intake. Everything in front of the triple tree except the computer shattered from the impact, resulting in an insurance claim of $2,500. Forks, wheel, handlebar, radiator all undamaged. The repair is fairly straight forward, nothing bent, just replace plastic.

I believe I may have escaped with no damage if I had the upper guard which is now on the way from Revzilla.
