Tough call. Depends on whether a storm is passing through. I-15 is the fastest and looks like 6,000 feet in places but if there is a storm... Weather.com predicts favorable weather, actually very good weather for I-15.

I 15 all the way, passes are clear already although watch for sand as we are getting snow this weekend, doubt it's a problem very mild winter here.

It's 15 hours from Kalispell by car to Vegas. 12 from Butte. GL

As others have said, if speed and lowest elevations are your goals, I-15 is by far your best choice. Monida Pass, on the MT-ID border is your biggest challenge and the entire area around Butte is just darn cold most of the time, even in the late spring. (If I had $100 for every time I've frozen my ass off going through Butte, I'd be a moderately rich man.) I'd try and time things so you're going through Butte and tackling Monida in the afternoon if possible.

Do try and take in Yesterday's Cafe-A in Dell Montana, a weird little restaurant in a converted one-room schoolhouse. It's just off the freeway and a super-unusual place to eat.

If you're coming back through this area, the weather is good, and you want to explore some ideal S10 gravel roads, MT 509 between Monida and Hwy 20 to the east is absolutely fantastic.... 60-odd miles of good gravel traversing Red Rocks Lake National Wildlife Refuge. But this is very remote high country and you don't want to be back there without good weather, a full tank of gas, and some contingency planning.

Usually you can fill up in Butte, Idaho Falls, Ogden, Nephi or beaver, Ceder city and your good until Vegas!

I drive it at least twice a year ???

Small town but... Beaver Utah has good lodging, food and gas stations. Kan Kun Mexican Restaurant and a Chevron gas station are near each other. There are two other cafe's with better ratings. They must be very good because Kan Kun was very good. BW Butch Cassidy Inn was a good stay.

While you're in Vegas, check out Valley of Fire state park. It's a few bucks to enter, but the scenery is well worth it. The drive around Lake Mead is also interesting, and also costs a few bucks for admission. The loop around Mt Charleston is enjoyable as well, and should be free of snow. Last year, I joined some forum members and we did the Sheep Mountains out of the Desert National Refuge. I forget the name of the road, but the thread is here with all the details.
