Air temperature sensor

Has anyone had issues with the air temperature sensor on a 2012 S10. Mine keeps showing higher than actual temperature. Example sensor shows 20C actual ambient air temperature is 15C.

It is not ambient air temp it is airbox temp.

Yes the air temperature is taken from inside the airbox and not outside.

Thanks for the tech info. Never occurred to me why the sensor was located inside the air box. Still would like to install an ambient unit, will look into it.

Because the fuel injection system needs the temp of the air entering the engine.
