I haven't picked up my bike yet, but as a giant fatass, I already know I need to revamp the stock suspension. My question it this: if I get a shock that has a standard threaded preload adjuster (as opposed to a remote hydraulic one) will the adjuster be accessible? Or, is it necessary to get a remote adjuster?

I think mounted "upside down" the adjusters should be accessible. Right side up will probably place the adjusters right inside the passage through the swing arm.

depends on the shock you get.
My yacugar has a hydraulic preload. Cat's ass.
I have the same set up on my FJ09, with a manual lock ring it would have been a pita on the FJ. Tenere is probably easier.
