I'd like to get opinions on what seat is most comfortable and worth the cost. On a 3 day ride the OEM really gets to me!

A lot depends on how you ride and what distance of comfort you are looking for. The 1000+ mile a day guys will all swear by Russell Day Long seats. (yes, I have one, and am one of those guys). I mostly ride pavement, but do wander off on gravel and two track, but not a lot of true off road and I'm not a hang off the seat guy on road.

Riders that want a comfortable 300-500 mile a day seat that holds up to multiple days during a trip, but still don't do a lot of off pavement riding will gravitate to one of several other custom seat makers. Laam, BMS(now closed), Sargent, Kontour, Terry's Custom Seats, Rich's custom seats, Mr Ed's Moto, Saddleman Adventure Tour seat and other local to them upholstery shops.

Mostly dirt guys will lean to other seats, but some will be darn happy with some of the above too, but for guys that spend a fair amount of time standing, Moose Racing, Touratech, Saddleman Adventure Track seat, Corbin and probably some I'm forgetting.

I'm going through the same thing. I've done over 700 miles with the stock seat and motoskivies (padded undershorts), but I want a little bit of additional padding in the seat. It would be great if someone comments on a seat they give their height/weight etc. I see some people who sell seats give this info, but not all.

You could always find a local upholsterer and have them modify yours. Maybe a layer of memory foam.
That way you get exactly what you want in a seat and would more than likely cost less than an after market seat.

I got a seat concepts kit from someone on here. Im 5ft 11 13stone 2015 ES. I was getting pain inside my thighs my nuts and a sore arse. I could do 2 hours on stock seat but would really feel it and my arse would die. I do sit quite forward and had done the seat mod. The seat concept foam is much firmer and built up at the front where i tend to sit. The rear is dished and i fit in there really well. First ride 3 and half hours non stop, i could feel my arse but no discomfort anywhere. So glad i got it as its perfect for me. Had looked at Touratech but their seat is set up for off road as well so no extra padding where i sit.

Would you know the specific model of the seat concept kit you have?

For long distance paved road riding, there is Russel, and there is everything else.

OK, three days and almost 800 miles of some of the twistiest offerings in Northern California on my new Day-Long. (the 30 some-odd miles between Fort Bragg and Willits is something to put on your bucket list) When less than 200 miles would have me in pain on my previous saddle... it wasn't until 700 some-odd miles on day three that some of the ache started up. I kept waiting for the fist twinge... come on, there's 150, there's 300... OK, maybe tomorrow. I had them install their heating element to the rear of the seat for heat therapy, not hooked up yet. It would have been interesting to go another 100 today with the heat on to see if my theory for the heat would work.

Definitely ::008:: ::008:: ::26::
