I put together a document like a flight plan you can download and use as an adventure travel emergency plan. It contains routes, times, contact info, etc. I built it for adventure outings using a lot of common sense. It is something to give your spouse so they feel more comfortable knowing when they should seek help from emergency services. It also gives first responders what they need to know how to find you and how long you may be able to survive. It can be used for motorcycling, kayaking, camping, fishing, hunting and any outdoor adventure. Leave a copy with family, friends and on in your vehicle. You can even share it with the Coast Guard or state park staff, the game warden and others that may be part of your rescue.

It is free to download for personal use so help yourself. If you like it leave a comment. If I can improve it, leave a comment. It might save a life one day.

Download Adventure Emergency Plan here
I fixed this link on 8/2/14. The plan is about 1/2 down the page.

Re: Adventure Emergency Plan

Eron - Thanks for contributing this. More important than the form itself is the reminder of how important it is to have a plan when heading off into the hinterland. I used to be a big UFC fan and a few years back a UFC fighter named Evan Tanner (as fit as a person could be) rode off into the California desert alone without such a plan. After his bike ran out of gas and he was already in duress he still texted a friend and declined help, thinking he could make it back to camp where he had more water. They found his body a few days later. I was probably stupid enough to put myself in that situation a couple of decades ago, but now I hope I know better. Always good to be reminded, though.
