Did the toggle switch ABS off switch modification and what the hell is going on with this thing!!
so here is what I have.
flat terminals filed down to fit into where the ABS fuse goes, hot and negative wires.
mini fuse on the hot side
wires run up to toggle switch
First time I tried the switch with bike running it worked perfect. turn the switch off, ABS light comes on. Turn back to on and ABS light goes off.
Now... Rolling down the road, switch to off, ABS light comes on then check engine light then TCS light. ABS does not work like it should. Flip switch back to on, ABS light goes off check engine light goes off but TCS light stays on.
Now this is where it gets weird!!
When switch was flipped to off, throttle felt as if it was in sport mode (very sensitive) and the thing has a BIG power increase in low gears. I honestly think somehow the power restriction in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear are removed. This is NOT the same as the hair pin trick in the clutch switch because I did that and really could not tell any difference in true power. This is a REAL difference and noticeable.
So the problem is this....
The ABS goes off like it should but now I have TOO much power and it is unusable in the dirt.... WTF...
Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix this????
If not I am simply going to run with the fuse pulled out but would like to have the ABS when on paved roads.
For anyone who says the Yamaha ABS just "works" No it does not "work" ::010::
If all you do is poke along on flat dirt roads then im sure it works just fine, but for those of us who ride hills and at speed ABS does NOT work and it will kill you! I have almost crashed twice and my buddy almost crashed his because of the ABS. These bikes need to have an ABS off switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yamaha listen to BMW and triumph..... ::010::
