Lol that markup on the rear tire is painfully high!

Available Sizes and Prices:
110/80-19 MC60 = $128.50
150/70-17 MC60 = $225.50

It needs to be closer to $150
At $225.00 and 5000 miles I would just buy a Heidenau K60 and get almost double the miles.
Looks like a nice tire but 5k is to short for the price.

Thanks for spotting them anyway. ::003::

Wow!

After posting just last night about thinking there should be more tire choices in this rapid growth genre (Big Pig ADV), up pops this!

A 5000 mile knobby? Am I dreaming?

I WILL be a guinea pig immediately. Will report.
I love this crazy world and times. Every morning I wake up and they have invented something new! It's crazy.

Yes, there are knobby tires available in our Pig Bike sizes, but they sort of fit into 2 categories......
1. Short lifespan and pricey
2. Short lifespan and affordable. (My favorite being the Big Block)

These Sava's might create a 3rd category?

3. Less Short lifespan (or "extended lifespan knobby") and pricey

If so, I welcome them with open arms. (checkbook lol)

I am trying to destroy a set of Mitas e09's right now and having trouble but I am less than 1k into them. The e07's are all the rage here, but few talk about the e09s as an option. I learned about them from Cosmic here at the forum. I will get a ride report up on them as soon as I have given them enough hell to have a good look at them.

Trikebro,

Are the E09's category 2? (for us yanks)

Cat 2 would be rear for <$150 (I made this standard up, since I made the categories up too. ::)

That's definitely cat 2 $'s!
Nice looking tire too. Thanks for the link.

You only gotta get a couple of thousand miles outta the rear to score me impressed. (I know you want significantly more)

Yeah I didn't see the prices when I posted the link. You'd think the report comparing TKC80/K60/MC60 should include price comparison as well wouldn't you? If the MC60 gives half the mileage of a K60, for 1.5 times the price, I'll be sticking with the Heidenau.

I can see it would be a good option for some situations though - a trip with a lot of dirt, where a TKC would not get you there and back, the MC60 might. The FRONT MC60 might be good to pair up with the K60 rear. Never been much of a fan of the K60 front.

I just got back from a trip through Mexico including Baja and Mainland and got 5000 miles on these tires. Rand both the front and rear. My riding buddy has a 2013 BMW 1200GSA and he ran the TKC80's. We both started out with new tires front and rear. I was very pleased with the tires in both on and off road performance, and unlike my buddy, I had no vibration or issues at all with the tires. On road grip was perfect, with no surprises and about a billion hi speed asphalt curves on the trip. Tire wear was about the same between these and the TKC80's. We were both on heavily loaded bikes for a month long trip so we expected faster tire wear as a result. I purchased the tires from Revzilla. The rear is a 150/70-17 and I paid $141 for the tire. The Front is a 110/80-19 and I paid $106 for it. They are called Mitas MC60 GETaWAY tires so I think Mitas has purchased the company. I liked them much better than the Heidenau K60 Scouts and they were less expensive. I would definitely buy another set. The front is still in great shape with much less cupping than the Heidenau did after 5k miles. I ran them in the "road" direction.

I run the Shinko 705R's and get about 6-8k out of the rear and more than 10k out of the front. I can buy more than two to one set of k60's and they handle very well on wet roads. Granted, they are not a K60 for off road for sure, but do pretty well. Haven't found anywhere I couldn't go yet. ::025::

I'm looking for tires for the next leg of my trip, across Europe to Asia, current set will get me to Turkey or thereabouts but have to line up new tires before then as Turkey is so expensive, and tires a pretty much unavailable after that.

In searching European sites I've seen the Sava's quite a bit - and they are a LOT cheaper than what they are going for in the US. With so many good, and in some cases cheap, options for our tires now I don't see a need for anyone in the US to try the Savas. I know I won't be, even though they are cheap here I just won't get the mileage out of them I need. Will be sticking to the tried-and-true K60's, or perhaps K60 rear and Mitas E-07 front.

I've been running Shinco 705's for about two years now. Great wet and dry pavement traction and they handle dirt and gravel road very well. I'm getting between 8 to 10 thousand on the rear and have 16 thousand on the front.
