Hi there!

I'm Jan, 25 y/o, in the Belgian Air Force (yes, we do exist :-\ ). I'm also 2 metres tall, or 6ft6 for you English people. When I first sat on the Super Ténéré, my poor knees started singing with joy. I then made a (fatal) error and said "That bike with the sticker DEMO on it, could I take it for a spin?"

After 2 months of sleepless nights I caved, and I told the girlfriend "Let's go to the store and get you some motorcycle gloves" ( :-X O:) ) and I placed the order. My DL650 was a great companion, with lots of little (and big) mods to make it fit my freakishly large corpus. But after the test ride on the XT1200Z, it lacked power, proper ergonomics, and power.

Out with the old;

In with the new!

It's going to be a blue Special Edition, featuring a ton of official and aftermarket parts. I ditched the Yamaha cases for a refund at the dealer, maybe some nice Zega cases. Or others. Dunno yet.

Delivery is set for Saturday the 5th, weater is cold but dry (ideal) and I'm hoping I get to take her out for a spin in my favorite playground, the German Eifel forest! Hope to learn alot here, and maybe get my hands on some rare or hard to get accessories for the bike!

Welcome Jan That is great news. You sure don't have to wait long. Could you post up some pictures when you take for a ride?

PS that picture you just put up would be on my desk top if it was a Super Tenere.

Thanks! Yeah I know, I like photography (means I've got an expensive DSLR and don't know how to use it) so pics of the Super Ténéré in all it's glory will arrive!

Meanwhile though...

Wow am I envious! March 5 is so much closer than "sometime in May."

This link is for the Motorrad Works "lowering" links, but they also product "raising" links that might be of interest to you. They raise the bike about 21mm. The odd thing about their site is that when they run out of stock on an item, they remove is from the site, so the only ones on the list right now are the "lower" links. You can probably email them a request to find out about availability.

Thanks! Yeah I saw the raising links, I might try them if I feel I need more legroom. But I already emailed them about the windscreen adjustment bracket, but haven't gotten a reply in 4 days I think....meh....

We'll take the Chocolate and Beer, but we already have a non-functioning political system. Welcome.

Beautiful Pictures.

Send a private message to Wasp (Greg) on this forum about your issue contacting motorrad garage. I had the same issue..... sent an inquiry regarding the windshield adjustment bracket (which I already ordered) and did not hear back. Greg (the supplier) was able to contact them and they finally got back to me.

Motorrad Garage claimed that they did not receive my inquiries. If that is true, then they are having trouble with their online contact system.

Thanks, the avater is a Steyr HS .50 system. Don't remember what glass it was though.

I actually PM'ed Greg on ADVrider 2 days ago, haven't had a response there either. Don't blame him though, he must be very busy forging farkles that will destroy my credit card :)

Jan,

Those photos are fantastic! I have never been to Europe but it is definitely on my bucket list! Good luck with your new S10. Be sure to post your impressions on it. It helps pass the time until May! :(

I am envious of your roads and your non-working political system. As the current record holder for countries with a non-functional goverment you give us all hope that that maybe we don't need them after all.

Welcome aboard

Welcome, Jan! I'm definitely grateful for your country's fine contributions to chocolate and beer technology :D I remain blissfully ignorant of your political system; wish I could say the same of my own...

Congrats on the S10. Great photos!

Thanks all. Those pictures were actually from the Alps in France and Italy. Went there last year. From Geneva in Switzerland all the way down to Monaco. And all the way back up again!

In 2005 I drove an RV from San Fransisco to New York in 30 days, I'm definately going to redo that trip on a bike someday!

BTW Someone else sais hi, and thinks we all are a bunch of people who have no sense of style at all, because we're interested in a bike that's ugly as hell! (Think she's still pissed she only got gloves, and I got a new bike! Actually thinking about it, we never got to look at the gloves :)) )

Wow! Nice one! She'll look great perched up on the pillion!

She desperately wants to ride her own bike, but first college then license. On our first ride together I was nervous as hell (my first ride with pillion too) and when we stopped she asked "so next time when I start pounding your leg, overtake already!"

She likes the new Yammie FZ8. Oh boy...
