Added a Family-Trip Video to my YouTube Channel.
This was just after Hawaii lifted their covid-related Tourist restrictions.
My Wife's Father gifted us his Timeshare points, so we took advantage and booked a Vacation to Kauai.
My Wife's Mom joined us for a much needed relaxing getaway.
Some businesses had not reopened yet, but we ended up having one of the best times of our lives!

It was all absolutely Amazing, but my favorite Day was spending the afternoon Snorkeling and watching the Sunset at "Ke'e Beach".

Somebody can send me to Hawaii if they are so inclined. My Uncle (Sam) has sent me to St. Croix and Andros Island a time or two. (The water at St. Croix is w-a-a-ay better than Hawaii)

Moved to the Big Island in '21. Living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean has it's drawbacks but I haven't had to shovel snow in three years, the only times I wear shoes are when playing softball or riding the bike and we don't change our clocks twice a year.

Not sure if I'd want to live on Kauai or the Big Island because I love both. Definitely prefer them to St. Croix.
If only I could afford it.

Hawaii wins for being less likely to catch a hurricane. But neither place likes tourists although tourism is Hawaii's main "export". St. Croix is the home of Cruzan Rum. I do know that St. Croix's water visibility is better. I don't know what the actual visibility distance is, but from the front of the 365' submarine, under water, I could see the rudder as if I was looking through air. A couple of the guys had been to Hawaii and said the water there was not as clear as the Carribean.

But no, I wouldn't want to live, permanently, in either place.

Samo.... I rented an 883 *sigh* and slowly motored the road that circles Oahu....and I was back where I started in less than 6 hours. Not for me. Kona was a bit better but I didn't rent a bike, instead we just took a motor pool van.

You can do the Big Island in a day but it's a full day and you can explore for additional days.

Humorous tatt on the hand of the stoner dude who worked at the bike rental in Kona.

I've recommended to people that a (big) scooter is a better choice on Maui. The roads can get tight and twisty and you have to be careful with a lot of blind curves. I haven't ridden on Oahu but judging by my time driving there, I don't really want to. The Big Island definitely has some great riding roads, mainly around the north side/Kohala area.... it's big, but it's still an island so you're limited on places to go.

I picked up a Honda CRF250 Rally and that's opened up a lot of areas to ride. The main problem there is that I live on the Hilo side and most of the good off-road areas are on the Kona side so I have a fairly long ride just to get there.

I also have a Honda ADV150 that I probably ride the most. It's basically my errand runner.

As far as living here, I spent virtually my entire life in Minnesota and my hatred of winter grew every year. When the timing finally worked out, we got out. We vacationed in Hawaii for many years and knew that's where we wanted to be.
