Today Walmart dropped the minimum price of orders to qualify for free shipping to $35 to combat Amazon. Coincidentally a 6-pack of Valvoline 10W-40 4-Stroke Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil costs $35. That $5.83 per quart before sales tax. I just ordered a 6-pack. Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.walmart.com/msharbor/ip/Valvoline-10W-40-4-Stroke-Synthetic-Motorcycle-Oil-1-quart-6ct-Case/19514358

I used this oil when I sent in a sample to Blackstone labs and with 4k miles on it and they said it would have been good for 5-6k miles.

Valvoline 10W-40 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil is designed just for motorcycles, as they place unique demands on the oil within their engine. The wet clutch system, high RPMs, high temperatures and metals that the motorcycles dish out require special properties for proper performance and protection. This motorcycle oil uses the highest-quality manufactured base oils and advanced additives to bring about the best in your machine. Valvoline Synthetic Motorcycle Oil will keep your bike's engine running longer, stronger and smoother than the competition. It also offers protection against wear and bad weather. In addition, it greases your engine for a smoother piston stroke and maximum thrust and acceleration. This quality oil will improve the lifetime and performance of your ride.

Wonder who thought this up. So if I use it, it will never rain or be windy and there will be plenty of grease in the crankcase. Hilarious :))

Amazon has Castrol ActevoXtra 10/40 3pak gallon for $59.20. Use their standard free shipping and with sales tax added the cost is just over 5$/qt.

I see that they have 20/50 for the same price. Which is best to use in a Tenere?

Depends where you are. At your location 10/40 is optimal, if you lived in Pheonix you would want 20/50 during the hot months.

I ordered 12 earlier this year and just checked their origin. Says Made in U.S.A. in third line from bottom. No mention of the bad weather protection though.

FYI, the price dropped to $27.62 for a 6-pack. I just bought 2 to get free shipping. Before tax that's $4.60 per quart of full synthetic.

This is such a screaming steal that it's already out of stock.
