Geez, the 40,000km service on my 1200GS cost close to $1000... glad to be rid of that thing. Did I mention I'm delighted with the SuperTen? ::022:: Yamaha would sell a lot more of them if they had a proper marketing campaign where they allocated a demo to each dealer and educated the dealers, through a dealer junket, on what the bike is and how to market it to potential customers.

I totally agree. Yamaha marketing for this bike has been horrible. They did try by sponsoring the AMA Adventure Series last year, but that was a bit of a bust because the bikes shipped to the US so late.

My June issue of American Motorcyclist from the AMA had a pretty good full page ad on the Tenere and they announced the guy who won the Tenere.

You're right - but where are the pictures of Nick Sanders that should be in every dealership? Where's the Yamaha Offroad School in the US? (Been to the one in Wales, and it was excellent!) Where's Yamaha's "Long Way Down/Round?" Where's Yamaha's equivalent to Rawhyde Adventures?

as a side note, BIKE UK did a write up with Nick Sanders bike in it. they took it to a local shop and did a engine inspection, everything looked new, except for the high carbon build up due to shit south american fuel.
