Hi,

It's now been 24 hours with the new Super Ten and here is my brief review so far plus loads of pics.

I was lucky enough to test ride one last year so I kinda knew what to expect, anyway I was still excited and the Super Ten delivered, I think my top points so far are the ride (comfortable), handling (it inspires confidence), power delivery (loads on tap) and the looks of course! ;)

Now for the bad, glad to say there are only two points, the first is the way that the cables obsure part of the dials, this is a real easy fix with just using one zip tie, it lowers the cables by approx 2 inches which is just enough, I know this may seem quite minor but it was bugging me! 1 minute job and I'm happy. Ok the second point many of you will have already read about, it's the buffeting from the standard screen, I tested this quite alot today, it really starts from around 40mph and simply gets worse as the speed increase's, I took a 18 mile run on the motorway and I soon had a headache, it was shaking my head so bad at one point the writing on a road sign was jumping all over the place. If you scoop yourself down low or stand up above the screen it goes away (just testing), my planned fix for this is a Touratech windscreen adjuster and I will also order two screens from California Scientific, a medium touring screen and shorty (looks so cool for the Urban Assault look). Hopefully this will resolve the issue, I know that Wasp seemed to rate the screens.

Just to be clear if you don't care about the cables and you either don't suffer the buffeting problem or can sort it then this bike is awesome! 8)

Next job for today was get her all cleaned up, first up I went round and removed all the paint pen marks were the dealer had done there inspection, lets just say this took a while!! My mate got to work on the rest, polished and waxed all the fairings/cowlings/wheels/lights, pretty much everything. Next up was cut down the exhaust shield, now this was a little trial and error but we thought just go for it! One problem is the Remus exhaust doesn't follow the lines of the standard exhaust so you up against it straight away, looks ok but I may consider other options if something comes out on the market.

Also added the heated grips, new clutch / break levers, AltRider side stand foot, LED indicators and the Super Ten tank pad. Ready to go on next will be TomTom Urban Rider, AltRider skid plate, Touratech windscreen adjuster, California Scientific screens (x2). Think that's it!

Finally there are loads of pics to add from the day, hope you enjoy.

Great looking ride. Sounds like the windscreen is very sensitive to the height of the rider.

Yeah I am 5' 10 and if I dropped down a few inches whilst riding it improved, I have read a few other posts with people complaining about the standard screen, I won't use mine long distance until I have it sorted, today was terrible on the motorway.

Your pictures make me glad I ordered my S10 in black (Raven). It looks great. :p Please keep us posted with your experiences with the Touratech windscreen adjuster. I'm leaning toward ordering this, due to it's having an intregal GPS mount.

Mortis, keep the pictures coming. That thing looks awsome. It reminds me of a M4 assault rifle.
You might want to pass the "Shorter Heat" shield look on the an after market company. I haven't seen that on any other pictures

Since my wife has ditched the idea of ever riding with me, I think i am going to remove the foot pegs and shield as well until I ever get some saddlebags. If i do mount the bags, I will leave the passenger brackets, but modify the heat shield.

Mortiis, looks good. Hey what kind of levers are they? DO you know if they fit a wide variety of bikes and or other yamaha's? Reason I ask, I have a pair of ASV levers in the garage, and have adapters for Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki. I am hoping they will work.

Those is Pazzo's those is :) You can buy seperate perches for all other makes of bikes. I used one off of an MT-01 the other off of an FJR. Since then Pazzo have officially listed them for the Tenere.

Hi guy's, there not Pazzo's they are the copy versions, I tried them as as they were cheap, £27 for the pair including delivery, used them today and no issues so far, the build quality is rather good for how much they cost.

They can be found here http://shop.the2wheels.com/CNC-Adjustable-Clutch-Brake-Levers-Set-for-Yamaha-Lever-Set-Yamaha.htm

I have taken some more photos today and did some recordings of the exhaust. Will be posting them up soon.
