I just got back from a 2200+ mile ride from my house, in New York, down Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway then to my brother's house in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Before I left I put my AirHawk/sheep skin in my boxes. I did not want to get "down the road" and find that my skin-over-bone ass was in serious trouble. Well, I did not need either. The seat worked perfectly. I had to do a lot of interstate riding to get there and back and the seat worked very well. One day I did 700+ miles and my ass was tired...not...sore!
I can say, from a personal perspective, that this seat was worth all that I paid for it. Now, I know, that there has been a lot of criticism of Seth for not getting seats back in a timely fashion.
Since he is a "one man operation" I would send your seat to him when your riding season is over. It will probably take him a month or so to get it back to you.
The quality of the seat is...excellent!
So, if you are looking for a nice seat for a fair price I would give him a ring/email. I have nothing, personally, to do with Seth other than having him redo my seat.

Great review. I am very happy with my Laam seat. My first ride with it was from CA to the Mt Hood ride in Sandy, OR. No way I would have been as comfortable with the stock seat. I actually live in Redding (where Seth is located) and got to meet him. He is a very cool, upstanding guy who knows what he's doing. Also, he is working his arse off so if takes him awhile to get your seat done, he's not goofing off at work. No affiliation with Seth, just an honest opinion.

I couldn't agree more regarding the quality of the seat or level of comfort. This is my 2nd one from Seth. First one was on a C14.

A friend, Allen, and I rode to Seth's place on Thursday. Allen wanted to talk to him about getting one of his seats built. The talk was very positive and Allen agreed to drop a seat off. Seth and I talked about my 2012 55,000 mile Bill Mayer seat. He wanted a chance to build it to fit me better. I might be going back to Redding https://goo.gl/maps/Lu9ruLzFQwy this week or next to do a Ride-in. Leave very early, get a seat built, go for a ride, get a room for the night, ride all day the next day. Looking forward to the new seat adventure.

I had Seth redo the driver & passenger seats. Couple weeks ago took a trip, 2 up for 1100 miles over a 3 day weekend. Not once did either one of us have any issues with the comfort of the seats. It does take a while to get the seats back but the result, IMO, was well worth it. He did a great job on the seat.

Seth did my seat also. I sent it to him during March when we still had snow. I got it back about 3 weeks later even though I told him "no hurry". I have about 7k miles on it and have to say it's one of the best mods I've done. Nice guy also.

I think it must depend on rider size and build. I had Seth make one for me and I find it very uncomfortable, even after he revised it.

Anyone want to buy a mint condition heated rider seat with matching passenger seat? :)

Gentlemen,

Keep in mind that Seth customizes the seat for you which includes rider weight. Therefore, don't blame him if you are not satisfied with a seat built for someone else. Otherwise, I do hope it works out for you.
Peace.
