Yes, there will be a 2024 Romney Cycles Camp N Ride!! Consider this to be the official announcement. It is happening. Dirt_Dad and I are pleased to once again join with Kevin (owner) of Romney Cycles, to put on your favorite riding event of the year benefitting The Potomac Center.
:p
As usual, this first post of the thread will be updated as new information becomes available. We are early in the planning, so look for routine updates here as details take shape.

For anyone new to the Camp N Ride, you're in for a treat. It's basically a gathering of Adventure riders from across the US and Canada. It's a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere with some of the friendliest and most charitable people who have ever strapped on a helmet. The riding is anything you want. You can pick from scenic pavement, outstanding twisty roads, easy fire roads, muddy, sloppy stuff, to water crossings. There's even a BDR (MABDR) just a few miles out of town. Whatever you like to ride, it's available to you at Romney.

This event is totally free of charge. As always, it is 100% sponsored by Romney Cycles. Romney is unquestionably one of the most unique and rider friendly dealers you'll ever experience. The 2023 return of the Camp N Ride was due to the dealership's owner, Kevin Carr. Kevin had such positive feelings about the riders who attended in the past, that he wanted to do it again. The 2024 event was also initiated by Kevin. D_D had not seen him in 6 months, so stopped out to say, Merry Christmas. As they shook hands, he looked D_D in the eye and asked, "Are you ready?" It didn't take long for us to connect and tell Kevin, "We're in."

Future: Route Link <<< keep watching - this will be updated for 2024

Hotels for the non-Campers
Koolwink - riders love this place, it will likely sell out for this event.
South Branch Inn - also popular

Charity
Romney is proud to continue supporting the community with this event. Over the years our Camp N Ride riders have contributed over $17,934 to charity. Once again Romney Cycles has selected The Potomac Center as the charity for 2024. The Potomac Center has a long history of providing residential assistance and support to both children and adults with developmental disabilities as they learn the skills needed to live successful lives.
The Potomac Center
If you were here for any of the events when the kids came over and sat on the bikes, I have no doubt you remember that day and how it made you feel. I know I do.

There will be many updates to follow. Romney is actively working out details. Nothing to announce yet related to any demo trucks, food vendors, or event swag. It is safe to say we will need an approximate headcount for whatever food vendors do support us.

This following is not an obligation, more of a way to see how many and who may be coming. Post to this thread or send me a PM and I'll add/remove you from the list. When we're a few weeks out we'll try to get a more "official" headcount so we can let those who need to know our estimated size.

From I-81, 45 miles to Romney Cycles. Call it 1 hour.

Depending on where you're coming from, you can have a much more enjoyable ride than I-81.

I would be coming from Key West on my way to Madawaska Maine and on the clock. I would stop for a meal but couldn't hang out too long.

Got it. I'll put together a couple of suggestions that will get a more direct route to Romney that will likely be similar in time, but far more interesting to ride.

I'm thinking 250 out of Staunton, or 33 from Harrisonburg. Both are awesome roads and get you more aligned with Romney.

Hard to go wrong as long as you stay off of I-81. Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive for example.

I'm officially IN. Whoop whoop!!! Room already booked at the Koolwink. I waited to long last year and had to room in Keyser, WV. Half hour away. But, I had so much fun meeting new people and riding the amazing roads, I have to do it again this year. Looking forward to the event.

Thank you for putting this together.
