Given the storm sweeping the country, most of us will be done riding for the year. (If not wait on your reply for another week.)
Three questions:
1. How many miles (or Kms) did you log for the year?
2. What was your best ride?
3. What was your worst? (Or most challenging, since there are no "Bad" rides.)

For me:
1. Just over 12K miles, plus just over 300 on rentals.
2. Best- Arizona: Salt River Canyon through Whiteriver to Coronado Trail (US 191, old Rt 666 Devil's Highway). One day, 500 miles.
3. Challenging - Short little jaunt to Reymert mine (AZ). Only about 50 miles total, but recent rains had eroded some of the trails. Fortunately, riding with a buddy. First we (I) lost the trail, and rode past the destination, with a long hot hike looking for it. Finally found it riding back out. Coming out from there, I had a half drop against a rock, killing the left footpeg. Another drop when I didn't check and realize it was gone. Then a third and final drop, just for good measure. (The girl is a bit hard to ride off road with one peg.)

1. Just over 7000miles for the year on the XT. About another 2500/3000 across the Pan/FJR/GS.
2. Best was probably trip to Valencia last month. Cracking ride through France, dropped her in the snow over the Pyrenees, down to Valencia and back.
3. Worst was a local club ride led by a less experienced member. The route chosen took us through the outskirts of Oxford where the busy nature of the roads broke the group of about 18 riders up. Some never to be found. After a prolonged wait I gave up and headed home.
My XT is off the road now till spring. The Pan is currently in use instead, but my old GS should take its place as soon as I’ve fitted the new ignition switch. My mate Charlie and I are planning a new years day ride which hopefully will be on the GS.

1, Roughly 5500 miles during 2022.
2, Picos in Spain. Wonderful roads, spectacular scenery/location.
3, Picos. The daytime heat for the whole time we were there, was in excess of 35 degrees, peaking at 41. Not good in riding gear.

1. Around 20 thousand km per year
2. My local excursions around my town. There is plenty to see, I know everybody and everybody knows me... it is a pleasure.
3. Coming back from Valencia, I suffered a strong pain in my right wrist that left my arm paralyzed. Not nice at all. I got carpal tunnel surgery and it's ok now.

2022 was probably my lowest kms/yr since buying my T12 in 2016 for 2 reasons. The Yamaha sat at home in my garage in Canada while I spent the winter in Florida, and it broke down twice over the summer putting it out of service for 8 weeks waiting for parts. I'm in Florida again this winter and my service records are back home so I don't know my actual 2022 kms but my best guess would be 25,000 for the T12. I didn't take any long trips with it in 2022, mostly day rides and they were all enjoyable....... no bad rides. ;)
Don't feel bad for me tho, I have 2 other bikes................ rode my Honda 45,000 kms and still counting, and my Harley ran perfectly for 22,000 for a total of over 90 thousand kms for the year. :p

I’ve ridden 30,500 miles this year with three motorcycles. The most miles (21,500) were on my 2021 Super Tenere. The other two bikes have been sold and I am picking up a 2022 BMW R1250 GS next week to coexist with my S10 next year.
My best two rides were trips to the desert southwest (NM, UT, CO, AZ) and another trip to the Pacific NW, down the Coast to Northern CA, and home.
The most challenging ride was the ride to the west coast with 9 out of 14 days ridden in rain at one point in the day. It was 38 degrees and raining hard when riding to Medford, OR.
It is -6 degrees with blowing snow at my house right now……no riding for a while.

In 2022, about 7500 miles across the bikes, nearly all were the S10.
Best ride - from my home in Wisconsin to Colorado and back. A day on the WR250R on aggressive dirt came a close second.
Most challenging - from my home in Wisconsin to Colorado and back.

Probably around 10-12,000kms this season, a lot of off road. My 2week trip was cancelled as my riding partner hurt her back a week before the start of the trip so essentially went back to work instead.
I spent a lot more time on my boat, it was really too hot to enjoy being on 2wheels.

Hi Glen
A little less this year than last, 41,130 miles but I should pick up a little more next week when the weather breaks.
Best ride had to be with my wife to the Ozarks camping and trail riding. I did ride some of the TWAT that was fun.
Worst ride for sure was on a MX track 6 or so weeks ago when I went down on a fast-sweeping corner and hurt my shoulder. I better be back up to speed by next spring. I'd really like to race again in the +65 class before I get too old.

Yeah, it's pretty bad if you got to move up to the 70+ class...
Merry Christmas to you and Michelle!

?? How much of the Trans Lab is paved currently? Several of us rode from Baie’ Comeau to Happy Valley/Goose Bay in 2008 via about 650 miles of graded gravel one way past the Manic 5 dam.
